On the weekend of February 21-23, 2020, over 85 Arrowmen gathered at Camp Baker in Florence, OR for the Tsisqan Lodge Workshop Weekend. Workshop is a fellowship event with the focus of training and workshop-style classes and activities. This year’s theme was “Fellowship at the OA Corral,” and was centered around the wild west.
The event kicked off on Friday night with some patch trading, cornhole and a western movie.
On Saturday, Arrowmen had the opportunity to participate in a variety of crafts and activities including choker making, capote making, lassoing, tomahawk throwing, archery, drumming and dancing, and more.
Over the winter, a large tree fell through the camp’s rifle range structure. A small group of adults spent the weekend cheerfully serving the council by removing debris from the crushed building and cutting up the tree.
During Workshop Weekend, Tsisqan Lodge holds their Vigil selection. The lodge chose six individuals to receive the Vigil Honor this year. They will be called out and complete their Vigil Induction during the lodge’s Spring Induction Weekend in June.
A few out-of-lodge guests were in attendance including Section W-1S Vice Chief Dirk Smelser and Lo La’Qam Geela Treasurer Thackery Moreland. Dirk promoted the 2020 conclave to the members in attendance.
Six Arrowmen sealed their membership in the Order during the weekend by completing the Brotherhood ceremony. The ceremony was well-performed and was regarded as one of the best performances in recent years by many lodge members.
In addition to a great program and awesome fellowship, the lodge released a new flap for members to purchase up to one per honor level. The flap features a scene from Camp Baker’s shoreline, a first for the lodge.
Overall, the first event for 2020 and the new officers was a huge success. The officers learned a lot about running a lodge event and are excited for what is to come in 2020.
