On the weekend of October 8-10, Wauna La-Mon’tay held its first fall Rendezvous at Camp Meriwether. The weekend began Friday night with the first two chapters of Polestar to help Arrowmen understand the induction journey. This was led by Benjamin Flores, the Section W-1S Secretary and his team of facilitators. After the first two chapters, the day ended with Lodge Chief Mason explaining our wood burning. The wood came from various projects around our council camps. Each participant in attendance answered the question, “what does the future of Scouting look like to you?” and wrote it down on their piece of wood. After the wood burning, everyone sang the song of our Order and went inside for a delicious crackerbarrel of cookies.
Saturday morning began with the rest of the Polestar chapters. After lunch, the afternoon included a variety of activities for Arrowmen to enjoy. Some of the activities included tomahawks, escape room, Kuub, shooting ranges and more!
Before dinner, Arrowmen played the 10 induction principles card game which had everyone exchange cards with others in order to complete a set of all 10 principles. The evening show included a year in review from Lodge Adviser Dick Phillips, promotions for upcoming events and all awards presented at our virtual Rendezvous back in March. Following the evening show, it ended with an rededication ceremony where the section officers and lodge chief did the Ordeal ceremony as a way for Arrowmen to rededicate themselves to a thriving future of our Order. Before the ceremony ended, everyone was given ashes which included some from the fire Friday night and the NOAC 2015 100th anniversary brotherhood fire.
