Over the summer, Tsisqan Lodge held two inductions: Melakwa Induction and the recently added Murnane Induction. Both events went great, with lots of cheerful service to the camps.
Both sites needed a lot of help to get ready for their respective summer events, and through the total of 567 hours of service given, both camps were successfully prepared. This was the first year with an induction at Camp Murnane, and the projects included rebuilding the rotten amphitheater, adding lighting to the covered structure, and trimming trees while simultaneously stocking firewood. The lodge hadn’t had an induction at Camp Melakwa in two years due to the fires in the area and low attendance, so there was a lot of maintenance on campsites, tables, roads, and the new shower house.
In addition to service, 17 new members were inducted into the lodge. The ceremonies teams consisted of lots of new ceremonialists, sparking lots of learning and growth in the ceremonies roster. Fellow brothers from Wauna La-Mon’tay joined the Murnane Induction, and helped to mentor some of the newer ceremonialists.
Though the crews were relatively small, they managed to achieve great things around the camps. The two weekends were full of fellowship and conversation, and many friends grew closer together. Arrowmen showcased their skills in working together, and proved that even small groups of people can accomplish extraordinary tasks.
Thank you to everyone who attended!
