Lo La’Qam Geela had a fun-filled Fall Fellowship November 8–10! Camp McLoughlin was a great venue, and Arrowmen even got a taste of winter: there was already snow on the ground. The event marked Lo La’Qam Geela’s 30th anniversary and was full of Brotherhood, Cheerfulness, and Service.
This year’s Fall Fellowship was themed after Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and the activities were well-suited to the theme. Friday evening was a movie night, and the dining hall was alive with laughter and Elvis songs well into the evening. Saturday welcomed a whole host of crafts and games: mask decorating, Jeopardy (officers vs. Arrowmen), cardboard “parade float” building, tomahawks, and so much more! Just before lunch, Arrowmen gathered to provide cheerful service to Camp McLoughlin, giving 31 hours to the camp. In the evening, the lodge welcomed seven new members into the Brotherhood honor level.
At dinner time, the lodge gathered for a banquet, enjoying both shrimp gumbo and a well-presented report on the Lodge’s annual achievements, awards, and activities. Arrowmen reflected on their accomplishments while enjoying a great dinner together. Different members were recognized for earning the Vigil Honor, the Founder’s Award, and the Keeper of the Flame neckerchief.
Thank you to all who attended and contributed to this wonderful event! More than a dozen guests from both Tsisqan and Wauna La-Mon’tay made it to the event, including over half of Tsisqan’s LEC. The event heralded friendships that will continue to build in this next year as the two lodges go through the process of merging. If the next year is anything like the fellowship at this event, then we can have confidence in the success of the new lodge.
