Meet the Conclave Vice Chiefs

The conclave vice chiefs (CVCs) are the youth responsible for executing different aspects of the conclave program. Here is a quick introduction to the people who make conclave happen!

Activities CVC

Ethan Poelstra

Ethan is an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood member from Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge in the Portland area. In the past he has served as chapter chief and senior patrol leader in his unit, and he currently holds a lodge programs vice chief position and staffs at summer camp. In addition, he has attended NYLT and NLS. Outside of Scouting, Ethan studies in high school and chairs on the Oregon Model United Nations Committee, and in his free time he enjoys backpacking, hiking, and repairing Coleman appliances. This year Ethan is excited for conclave and the summer camp season!

Admonition CVC

Violet Hawkins

Violet is a Life Scout and Brotherhood member from Tsisqan Lodge, residing in Roseburg, OR. In the past she has served as chapter chief, chapter membership vice chief, and senior patrol leader in her unit. At present, she is the Tsisqan Lodge membership vice chief, staffs at Camp Baker, and is a member of the Scouts BSA National Youth Council. In addition, Violet has attended NYLT and NLS, and has earned the National Outdoor Achievement Award for camping. Outside of Scouting, Violet attends high school with plans to eventually work for the U.S. Forest Service. She enjoys basketball, theater, biking, and discus, and is excited to attend events throughout the section!

Mason Christensen

Mason is a Life Scout and Brotherhood member from Lo La’Qam Geela Lodge, residing in Bend, OR. Previously, he has served as chapter chief and senior patrol leader. Mason is an NYLT participant and currently serves in his troop as chaplain’s aide. Outside of Scouting, Mason attends Trinity Lutheran High School and participates in the varsity swimming team. He enjoys nature with backpacking, hiking, and camping, and this year he is looking forward to helping his lodge even more!

Host Lodge CVC

Nathan Lebednik

Nathan is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge from Portland, OR. In the past he has served as lodge chief, programs vice chief, and awards chair. He was awarded the Lodge Service Award from his lodge, and currently serves on the section comms team. Outside of Scouting, Nathan is a lifeguard and swimming instructor, competes in martial arts, and is wrapping up high school. Nathan enjoys music and camping, and he is looking forward to beginning college and eventually joining the military.

Andrew Hipps

Andrew is a Life Scout and Brotherhood member from Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge, residing in the Portland area. Previously he has been the lodge communications vice chief, chapter ceremonies vice chief, and Shows CVC. He is an NLS participant and is also serving on the section comms team as the Brand and Design lead. Aside from Scouting, Andrew enjoys boxing and powerlifting, history, cars, and cooking. He currently studies at the Beaverton Academy of Science and Engineering, with the plan to eventually become a financial adviser.

Emily Kinkade

Emily is a Life Scout and Brotherhood member from Tsisqan Lodge residing in Albany, OR. In the past she has served as chapter chief and council Rendezvous OA chair, and she currently serves as lodge service vice chief, a member of the Tsisqan / Lo La’Qam Geela merger committee, and senior patrol leader in her unit. Outside of Scouting, Emily enjoys entomology, forestry, backpacking, painting, and learning new things. She studies at the Long Beach City College for her high school diploma and Associate’s degree. This year Emily is excited to spend more time outdoors by hiking and backpacking.

Vy Tran

Vy is a Life Scout and Brotherhood member from Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge, residing in Portland, OR. Previously, she has staffed at Camp Meriwether, been senior patrol leader for her unit, and helped at numerous lodge events. She currently serves as lodge membership vice chief, continues to staff at Camp Meriwether as a lifeguard, and is the Social Media lead of the section comms team. Aside from Scouting, Vy is finishing high school with plans to go to Oregon State University and study economics. She enjoys learning Vietnamese, participating in choir, tutoring, swimming, piano, and caring for houseplants. This year she is looking forward to attending college and having fun!
