The College of Youth Leadership (CYL) is a dynamic program that helps Scouts sharpen their skills across a range of Scouting disciplines. This year, CYL was held at Mt. Hood Community College and welcomed over 100 youth participants across two course levels. Using a round-robin format, participants rotated through sessions tailored to their level, learning essential topics such as communication strategies, collaborative trip planning, and advanced preparation techniques.
Beth K. led the event, supported by adviser Dave Loseke. Together, they organized a team of over 30 Arrowmen volunteers who instructed Scouts, managed course tracks, and provided service for both CYL and the University of Scouting – the parallel training for adults. The dedication and countless hours contributed by these Arrowmen were key to the event’s success.
CYL continues to inspire and equip Scouts with the skills they need to lead confidently, both within their troops and beyond. It was an amazing event for everyone who staffed and the participants!
