There are many new and exciting changes coming to Section G16 and the Order of the Arrow this upcoming year! Here is a brief overview of all the key points that you can look forward to!
First and foremost, Tsisqan Lodge and Lo La’Qam Geela Lodge are in the process of merging together into a single lodge. Over the next year, Tsisqan Lodge and Lo La’Qam Geela Lodge will be merging to form a new lodge serving the new Pacific Crest Council. The merger of these two lodges will take several months with plans to wrap up this fall with the first event of the new lodge. Until then, both lodges will continue to operate as normal for 2025 and both lodges will participate in conclave individually alongside Wauna La-Mon’tay. For more information, please see the recent article on the lodge merger here.
Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year! Wauna La-Mon’tay was founded in 1950 with the name Hyas Chuck Kah Sun Klatawa, and has continued to provide quality service and support to the local council. Every year, Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge meets at Camp Meriwether for an amazing Rendezvous, complete with awards, celebrations, and feasts, so I can’t wait to see what the committee plans this time in commemoration of its 75th year!
The National Council of Chiefs (NCOC) is happening this summer at Philmont Training Center in New Mexico! The NCOC is a meeting of lodge and section officers from around the country offering high quality trainings for their position while also building lasting connections with other Arrowmen. Additionally, participants will get to meet national officers, provide input to the OA program, and explore what Philmont has to offer! The NCOC is the OA’s national program of emphasis this year, so don’t miss this amazing opportunity!
Wauna La-Mon’tay will be having their 2025 ArrowCorps, a week long service event based at Camp Pioneer. ArrowCorps only happens every two years, and it is a load of fun! Participants are split into trail crews where they build and maintain walking trails, or provide helpful service to the camp itself. The event is open to all Scouts aged 14 and older, so invite your troop as well! See the ArrowCorps page for more information and a glimpse into what past years have looked like.
Then there is the highlight of the year: Conclave! Our Section Chief Anson will be leading a team of Conclave Vice Chiefs (CVCs) to plan an amazing weekend of activities and fun! This year, conclave will be hosted by Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge at the beautiful Camp Meriwether near Tillamook, OR. Conclave will be held on a new date this year, so mark your calendars and plan to join us on Aug. 22-24 for a weekend of fun, food, and fellowship! Join us at conclave in 2025 for great food, brotherhood, and fun! Want to relive last year’s conclave? Check out our 2024 conclave recap!
Finally, the OA High Adventure program Ocean Adventure is returning this summer after being paused for two years! It is held at Florida Sea Base, and there are only two sessions available this year, so if you’re interested make sure to register soon at https://oa-scouting.org/high-adventure!
Wow, that’s a lot that will be going on in our section – there are so many awesome opportunities to take advantage of, so don’t be afraid to try something new! It’s looking like 2025 is going to be a great year!
