Lo La’Qam Geela LLD Recap

On January 13-15, Lo La’Qam Geela Lodge held their Lodge Leadership Development (LLD). LLD is an event where the leaders of the lodge gather to learn about leadership, set their goals for each of their roles, and set the standards for the upcoming year.

The LEC participated in a little activity involving leadership, more specifically connective leadership. Each member learned something about themselves and about each other.  The LEC then worked in breakout groups to learn about their roles and what is needed to be successful within them. Goal setting and a visit from our council Scout executive followed lunch. Mr. Westfall requested the lodge to build a reputation among the Cub Scouts because it would build awareness of our organization. If we want to grow our lodge, we have to build awareness and visibility of who we are and what we do.  LLD finished off the training by finalizing our calendar and budget for the year. You can count on Lo La’Qam Geela Lodge to have quick discussions on both topics, especially when there’s candy involved.

The LEC finished off the night with good pizza and a dip in the pool. Everyone had fun bonding as well as planning. They are prepared adequately to lead the lodge, with enthusiasm, in a positive direction this year. I am excited to see what comes of it.
