Memories from Conclave 2018

By the time of conclave in 2018, I was a newly inducted Arrowman. I went through my induction at Camp Baker that June, and I was ready for more. I had heard about previous conclaves from my brother, but that was nothing compared to what I was about to experience.

There were lots of fun training classes. I remember learning how to play a native flute, learning to play Magic: The Gathering, and valuable leadership lessons. And activities like hatchet throwing, a bounce house, and giant foosball. I also saw lots of interesting items for sale in the auction.

As a new Arrowman that year, I got to partake in the Very Important Arrowman, or VIA, activities. We had a root beer float party after dinner one night. We also had lunch with the national and section officers that were in attendance and got to talk with them about their Scouting experiences.

But, one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend was the shows. The show’s team put together a short film based around the theme of the weekend, Jurassic Conclave. We also got to see our current section officers, at the time, and some of our guest officers get pied. And the best part of it all, was when Anthony Peluso, the current national chief at the time, stated that “West is Best.”

All in all, I had a wonderful time at conclave back in 2018. I look forward to this year’s conclave and can’t wait to see you all there.
