Photo/Video Lead

About This Position

The Photo/Video Lead is responsible for overseeing all photo and video projects. This individual will lead a team of photographers and videographers, ensuring the creation of high-quality media content for section publications and special projects.

Reports to: Comms Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of photo/video projects to meet the team’s objectives.
  • Ensure the produced media meets high standards of quality and aligns with the section’s branding and styling guidelines.
  • Ensure all captured media is logically organized and readily accessible in the team’s Google Drive.
  • Identify and recruit talented individuals to join the photo/video team.
  • Provide training to team members on the skills necessary for effective photo/video production.
  • Ensure photo/video projects progress smoothly through the team’s workflow, from conception to completion.
  • Assign tasks and projects to team members based on their skills and availability.
  • Ensure all video content produced by the team is edited to a high standard before submission for review.
  • Assist in onboarding new team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Actively promote recruitment efforts to expand the team’s talent pool.
  • Participate in all monthly team meetings, providing updates on photo/video projects and contributing to discussions.
  • Delegate tasks to photographers and videographers as necessary to support team objectives.
  • Adhere to the Section G16 code of conduct, team policies and procedures, and the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Ensure compliance with all Section G16 and Order of the Arrow branding and styling guidelines.
  • Serve as a positive role model and representative of the section in all interactions both online and offline.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Comms Team Lead.
