Runway Rendezvous

by Reece L.

Rendezvous, Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge’s annual Spring fellowship, is just a few days away! This year’s Rendezvous chairman and Wauna La-Mon’tay programs vice chief, Julian Anderson, has put together an incredible team of talented Arrowmen dedicated to making this year’s Rendezvous unique, fun, and fashionable.

Yes, fashionable. The fellowship’s name this year is Runway Rendezvous, a fashion theme. Come and enjoy a myriad of fun activities; starting Friday night with making jewelry, patchtrading, playing fashion Jeopardy, and designing a chapter fashion line! On Saturday, Arrowmen will have even more open to them: making paracord bracelets and trash bag suits in the morning; while the climbing tower, ranges, and theme-related activities such as Capture the Swag will be available in the afternoon. Arrowmen are also encouraged to take part in the various workshops that will be offered at Rendezvous including obsidian knife making, basket weaving, leatherworking, and wooden mallet making! All of this building to the fashion show Saturday night which will feature lodge and chapter officers walking the runway, wearing their most fashionable outfits.

When asked what he was most excited for at this year’s Rendezvous, Julian said, “This year, Rendezvous is all themed around fashion, one of my personal hobbies. With an abundance of chapter competitions, fashion-themed activities, and the return of many workshops, there’s so much to be excited about. If you are eligible, it is also a great opportunity to earn your Brotherhood honor. With plenty to do, there’s bound to be something that you can enjoy with your friends.” Being a member of the Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge myself, I too am very excited for Rendezvous, as this year there is a level of uniqueness and variety in the activities, classes, workshops, and shows that will surely make for a memorable event.
