Section Members to Receive the Silver Antelope & Silver Buffalo

Two Arrowmen from our section have been selected to receive two of the BSA’s highest volunteer awards.

Silver Antelope

Congratulations to Cascade Pacific Council board chair and Wauna La-Mon’tay Lodge member Kaleen Deatherage for receiving the Silver Antelope Award for her service to Scouting at the National Service Territory level! Only 32 of the awards are presented each year and Kaleen joins just over 3,000 other recipients in the awards 80 year history.

Congratulations and thank you Kaleen for your service to Scouting!

Silver Buffalo

Congratulations to Crater Lake Council board member and Lo La’Qam Geela Lodge member Mike Bliss for receiving the Silver Buffalo for his service to Scouting at the national level. Mike joins just under 900 other individuals as a recipient of this Award.

Mike served as the lodge’s first adviser, creating an excellent foundation for the newly merged lodge in 1994. Shortly after, he was selected to serve the Western Region as the OA Chairman from 2006-2013. Mike was also the lodge’s first & only Distinguished Service Award Recipient.

Mike currently serves on the Crater Lake Council Board, Chair of the Council Jamboree Committee and the Council High Adventure Committee.

Congratulations and thank you Mike for your service to Scouting!
