Social Media Lead

About This Position

The Social Media Lead is responsible for managing and enhancing the section’s social media presence. This role involves overseeing content creation, engagement strategies, analytics, and ensuring adherence to branding and posting guidelines. The Social Media Lead collaborates closely with platform leads to maintain and active and impactful online presence.

Reports to: Comms Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all section social media accounts, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
  • Coordinate content creation, editing, approval, engagement, and interactions on social media platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive social media content calendar.
  • Ensure all content produced is informative, engaging, and aligned with the section’s goals.
  • Create tasks to outline deadlines and posts, assigning tasks to team members with clear descriptions and proposed messages.
  • Manage login access to all section social media accounts and tools.
  • Submit graphic requests for social media posts following the proper workflow.
  • Gather analytics from each social media platform and compile reports for team meetings.
  • Ensure all social media posting guidelines and rules of engagement are followed, including those set by Scouting’s guidelines and Section G16 policies.
  • Monitor and promptly respond to comments and messages on social media accounts.
  • Proactively seek new opportunities to expand and improve the section’s social media presence.
  • Collaborate with platform managers to engage with and monitor followers effectively.
  • Assist in onboarding new team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Actively promote recruitment efforts to expand the team’s talent pool.
  • Attend and provide reports at all monthly team meetings.
  • Delegate tasks to platform managers and platform support members as necessary to support team objectives.
  • Adhere to the Section G16 code of conduct, team policies and procedures, and the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Ensure compliance with all Section G16 and Order of the Arrow branding and styling guidelines.
  • Serve as a positive role model and representative of the section in all interactions both online and offline.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Comms Team Lead.

Arrowmen must be at least 13 years old to serve in this position, as required by the terms and conditions of each social media platform.
