Social Media Platform Manager – Instagram

About This Position

The Instagram Platform Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the section’s Instagram presence. This role involves overseeing content creation, engagement strategies, analytics, and ensuring adherence to branding and posting guidelines of the Section G16 Instagram account. 

Reports to: Social Media Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a community manager for the section’s Instagram account.
  • Schedule and post content regularly.
  • Share posts to the story and engage with posts designated accounts, including previous section posts, in-section chapters and lodges, Gateway Region and national OA, OA High Adventure, NOAC, and other OA and Scouting accounts and posts the section is tagged in, as appropriate.
  • Monitor and respond to direct messages promptly and professionally.
  • Engage with comments and replies as necessary.
  • Monitor comments on posts to maintain a respectful and welcoming community environment and ensure adherence to rules of engagement.
  • Ensure all aspects of the Instagram platform are effectively utilized, including posts, stories, reels, etc.
  • Assist in creating social media captions and developing unique content that aligns with the section’s goals and values.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Team Lead and other platform managers to develop and maintain a social media content calendar.
  • Actively promote recruitment efforts to expand the team’s talent pool.
  • Attend and actively participate in all team meetings.
  • Delegate tasks to platform platform support members as necessary to support team objectives.
  • Adhere to the Section G16 code of conduct, team policies and procedures, and the Scout Oath and Law.
  • Follow all Section G16 and Order of the Arrow branding and styling guidelines.
  • Serve as a positive role model and representative of the section in all interactions both online and offline.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Social Media Lead.

Special Qualifications

Candidates for this position should be active users of and have a good understanding of Instagram.

Arrowmen must be at least 13 years old to serve in this position, as required by the terms and conditions of each social media platform.
