Tacoma NLS/DYLC

As an Arrowwwwman, one is encouraged to serve others, whether it be through going to every lodge or chapter service project or helping out at lodge events. However, perhaps the most important type of service one can give the Order of the Arrow and their community is serving through leading. Jumping into a leadership role may be daunting, but it is easier when you are properly trained. Enter the National Leadership Seminar (NLS) and the Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC)!

At these events (NLS for youth and DYLC for adults), participants are given the opportunity to learn how to better their Scouting community in their chapter, lodge, section, and nationally. At NLS, Arrowmen are taught by national, region, and section officers from around the country! This experienced team trains participants to become effective leaders in their Scouting community, all the while making it a fun and engaging experience! While the youth are being taught how to lead the charge in Scouting at NLS, adults at DYLC are trained to empower the youth in their local area to do so and taught how the adults in the OA can guide the youth leaders to success.

The closest NLS and DYLC course to us this year is April 19-21 at The Salvation Army Camp Arnold in Eatonville, WA. Registration closes on April 2 and check-in begins at 6 p.m. on April 19. Scholarships may be available through your lodge. Talk to your lodge adviser today about attending these premier training programs. Arrowmen are driven to serve others in many different ways, including leading. Take your leadership abilities to the next level by registering for NLS or DYLC!
